Farmers considering energy-efficient practices to help increase profits and save energy are encouraged to check for rebates that could be available to help pay for the cost-saving technology.
States, utilities, and energy programs often offer incentives to help offset the cost of implementing energy-efficient equipment. In Wisconsin, a state program offered a $60-per-fixture rebate in 2009 to agricultural facilities that retrofited their facilities with high-performance lighting.
Incentives are designed to help customers become energy efficient by helping offset the cost of implementing the technology. Energy efficiency has a wide array of benefits, including reducing energy costs and preventing harmful greenhouse gases from being emitted into the atmosphere as a by-product of electricity production.
